Ingredients
  

  • 1 medium head of green cabbage chopped
  • 1 pound ground beef or turkey
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 can 14.5 oz diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheese optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, sauté the diced onion over medium heat until translucent.
  3. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
  4. Add ground beef or turkey to the skillet, cooking until browned.
  5. Stir in the chopped cabbage, diced tomatoes, and beef broth.
  6. Season with oregano, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  7. Bring the mixture to a simmer, then cover the skillet and let it cook for 10 minutes.
  8. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and spread evenly.
  9. If desired, sprinkle shredded cheese over the top.
  10. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes, then uncovered for an additional 10 minutes.
  11. Remove from the oven and let it sit for 5 minutes before serving.
